Our Pathway for Growing Tomorrow’s Innovators
At Chase, our core values are integrated into lessons, projects, and experiences. They guide our mission of growing tomorrow’s innovators:
Critical Thinking & Computational Thinking - We challenge scholars to analyze information, evaluate evidence, make connections, and apply computational thinking—breaking down problems into logical steps to find practical solutions.
Innovation and the Entrepreneurial Spirit - Scholars are encouraged to think boldly, take creative risks, and pursue original ideas. We foster entrepreneurial mindsets, preparing scholars to lead and adapt in an increasingly complex and changing world.
Community - Our school culture is rooted in kindness, empathy, and strong partnerships with families and local organizations. Learning is most effective when it occurs within a supportive and connected community.
Exploration - scholars explore big ideas, local landscapes, and global issues. We nurture creativity and curiosity, helping scholars make meaningful connections through inquiry and discovery.
Well-being - We prioritize the safety and well-being of every scholar, both emotionally and intellectually. Our learning environment fosters confidence, self-awareness, and mutual respect among all individuals.
Integration - We break down barriers between content and community, nature and technology, to create a unified learning experience. Lessons build upon real-life experiences that are interdisciplinary and interconnected.
Problem Solving Through Engineering Design
In every grade, scholars use the Engineering Design Process to solve problems, design solutions, and reflect on their learning. This hands-on approach enables scholars to tackle real-world challenges in their classrooms and beyond, fostering persistence, collaboration, and confidence.
Pathways to Excellence
Chase STEMM Academy sets the foundation for continued success at Toledo’s STEMM-focused high schools:
We have numerous community partners, Bowling Green State University TRIO, The University of Toledo GLOBE Project, Owens Corning, Toledo Zoo Project Prairie, Metroparks, RFS T.A.C.K.L.E., Vineyard Church, Luken T. Boyle Campaign for Kindness, Girl Scouts, NASA, Toledo Art Museum, Imagination Station, and the Ability Center who support the real-world connections for our scholars.
Through project-based learning, our scholars engage in real-world challenges that connect classroom content to their lives and the world around them. Whether designing solutions for real issues facing our local community, every student is encouraged to take ownership of their learning. Chase STEMM Academy is a place where scholars are seen, supported, and inspired to explore their potential.
